Update: EA DICE is here to throw a spanner in the works. The upcoming reveal of Battlefield 6 may not actually take place this week, since the developer has tweeted out that the announcement is essentially taking place in June. The publisher's EA Play digital showcase will likely host the reveal then.
Original story: This appears to be the week for Battlefield 6, as music group 2WEI teases its tracks will be part of two game trailers dropping at some point over the next seven days. What's the link here, you ask? Audio from this so-called teaser trailer has already leaked onto the internet, and it uses Run Baby Run by the twosome in question. Some industry insiders supposedly in the know had pointed towards last week being when we would finally see the next entry in the Battlefield saga, but this tease from 2WEI certainly indicates a grand unveiling will take place over the next couple of days.
What do we know so far about Battlefield 6 so far, then? It's being designed for current-gen consoles like PlayStation 5, the assumption is that it'll take place in the modern day, and it's confirmed to be out this year. Alongside the main team EA DICE, racing studio Criterion Games is lending a hand during development and so is DICE LA. "Epic scale. All-out military warfare. Crazy, unexpected moments. Game-changing destruction. Massive battles, packed with more players and mayhem than ever before. All brought to life with the power of next-gen consoles and PCs", is what a recent blog post on the future of the Battlefield franchise stated.
We will, of course, bring you all of the latest Battlefield 6 news and trailer drops as soon as they happen here on Push Square. What do you want to see from this latest entry? Share your hopes in the comments below.

Never really liked BF. I always prefered COD, but after playing BF V through this month's Plus, I really like it. I will probably get this.
@TwomanybuttonS 9,000 followers on Twitter, so they're not big or anything.
Interested to see a new Battlefield. It won't happen, but I'd love for them to return to Bad Company — those were some of my favourite multiplayer games on PS3.
Hoping that we get a proper BR mode to end the Warzone era
Never understood the appeal of COD or Battlefield to be honest, though I'll admit that I am particularly picky when it comes to First-Person Shooters, Resistance being one of the few I love.
@lolwhatno Eid Mubarak!
I'd actually like game changing destruction as the battlefield games have not had any where near the level of carnage that bad company 2 had way back on the ps3...lets see if they can make good on their claims this time round..
@Quintumply bad company 2 was the best fun I ever had with a shooter
Enjoying V and the MP maps even if I'm regularly getting wiped out. I like the WWII setting and have no real interest in modern warfare what with drones and laser-guided missiles and whooping "Get some!" after every kill.
I can't wait , this and killzone are my top shooters.
Isnt this rumoured to be a day 1 drop on game pass? In which case expect to see it at Microsoft's E3 conference
Too busy playing Warzone to really bother
The fact that Criterion and another studio were brought in to help hapless DICE doesn't bode well, does it? Having just sank enough time into Battlefield V to get the Plat, I can't say I'm very impressed.
@Rob_230 It's a rumour that has been doing the rounds for a while now, but I don't think a solid source has actually attached their name to it. Could be something, or it could be nothing.
Boom doesn’t rhyme with June...
I wasn't, but thanks for the heads up.
Very interested to see what's DICE's response to the recent COD resurgence.
Would like to see a modern setting again, and hopefully a reasonable SP campaign. As far as war-based FPS go though, I'm probably more interested in Six Days at this point in time.
I'd guess that while EA isn't specifically at E3, they'll do EA Play just before E3 like in 2019 and then if the Game Pass day 1 rumour ends up true Battlefield 6 reappears at Xbox E3.
I used to play Battlefield 3 online all the time, one of the only games I did apart from the great team fortress. But I don't ever remember having ps+. Am I dreaming this up, how was that possible?
I've not played bf since 4.
I dl'd bf1 as it was free but none of the servers had any players in! I tried a couple of times but nowt.
I won't bother with bf5, I don't like the old guns tbh.
I've always thought a ***** bf beats a good call of duty tbh and the last decent one was mw2, the two games are vastly different and I have high hopes for the new BF.
The complete lack of environmental destruction in cod is just bizzare and the guns... Purple, pink, gold. Purple and diamonds... I know its aimed at school children but it is fun. For a few days.
Battlefield is something you play for months, even years.
I want the days of BC2, and BF3 and 4 back with cross console play and next gen graphics and sound.
I don't want pc hackers in there, it'd be great to have the option to NOT have those type of players infecting my games and spoiling games for honest players.
IMO they have not come even close to Bad Company or part 2 in years.
The past two BF games really left a sour aftertaste. BF 4 took a year of patches to finally be somewhat good. For me personaly BF was at its best with BF2, BC2 and BF3. Let's hope Dice knocks it out of the park with there next BF and we get the level of destruction found in Bad Company 2 mixed with the multiplayer gameplay of 2 and 3.
Used to be a big battlefield fan but with the way how AAA games nowadays are I'm sure it's another cashgrab full of bugs and microtransactions. I'd love to be proven wrong but I've become increasingly cynical about AAA games..
@GoodGame
If you liked V then you would definently love 1 which came out prior to V (yes the titles can be confusing)
